The School of Pharmacy's biannual Lowenthal Symposium, "New Drug Targets in Mental Health," takes place 9 a.m.-4 p.m. May 24 at Larrick Student Center on the MCV Campus. The School of Pharmacy's annual Dean's Award Seminars take place 9-11 a.m. May 25 in the Smith Building, Room 103. The Charles T. Rector and Thomas W. Rorrer Jr. Dean's Award for Graduate Studies is presented to the School of Pharmacy graduate Student who best demonstrates excellence in research, scholarship, teaching and service. The competition is two-tiered. The first tier consists of a review of the written record of the student's accomplishments. A maximum of four finalists will be chosen on this basis. The second-tier consists of oral presentations of the students' research work to the school faculty and members of the research community. The recipient will be selected by the Graduate Affairs Committee immediately following the Dean's Award Seminar.
School of Pharmacy graduate students are invited to a luncheon every year, after which awards are presented. This year, the lunch takes place 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. May 25 at Omni Richmond Hotel, 100 S. 12th St.
