IPSF Student Exchange Program

IPSF

The International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation (IPSF) offers student pharmacists an opportunity to experience pharmacy practice in another country through their international Student Exchange Program (SEP). Almost 50 associations throughout the world participate in the SEP and over 500 exchanges take place every year.

When is the trip?
The students can travel at any time throughout the year and exchanges typically last about a month.

What will students do during their exchange?
Students may work in a hospital, community pharmacy, university, or research facility.

IPSF 2008

How can students apply?
Students should visit the IPSF website for details about applications. If you are a member of APhA, you are already a member of IPSF and are able to apply for the exchange program. The application is generally available online by mid-fall and the initial application is due to APhA by the beginning of December. Students are selected by January to represent APhA in the student exchange program. Selected students are then matched with countries throughout the spring.

How much will it cost?
Students are responsible for all travel expenses, visas, and insurance. Housing may or may not be provided by the host site.

Who can I contact for more information?
Visit the website or contact Jennifer Austin (austinjh@vcu.edu) or Holly Gurgle (gurgleh@vcu.edu) with questions about participating.
