Students present the health care platforms of the Presidential Candidates

  • The healthcare proposals of the Republican and Democratic candidates for their respective party’s presidential nomination were researched by the ten members* of the School’s Effective Leadership and Advocacy class this past fall. During the semester break they continued to work as a group with faculty support from Drs Matzke, Musselman, Rymers and Holdford to craft a comprehensive perspective based on the candidates’ statements and published commentaries. They refined the content of each candidate’s proposal and developed a 5-8 minute video presentation for each of the three Republican and two Democratic front running candidates. These presentations were unveiled during the Dean’s common hour yesterday as an informational resource to the students and faculty of the School as they prepare to participate in the Virginia primary elections next Tuesday February 12th.
  • These video productions along with an introduction to the current status of the United States Health care system are now available to you. To access the Introduction or an individual candidate’s presentation click on the respective link. You will need Quicktime to view the videos below. Download Quicktime
  • The ten members of the class are Bradley M. Deal, John Gallahan, Paul Heron, Yacoub Jadallah, Miren Jauregui, Jonathon Lafrenaye, Bridget Lowe, Jennifer Neal, Michael Shelton and Eric smith.
