Pharmacy lends a hand to state’s Council on Aging
Jeffrey C. Delafuente has been appointed to a four-year term on the Commonwealth Council on Aging.
Delafuente, professor and associate dean for professional education at VCU School of Pharmacy, is one of four at-large members appointed by the speaker of the House of Delegates.
Another four members are appointed by the Senate Committee on Privileges and Elections, and 11 are appointed by the governor, one from each of Virginia’s congressional districts. The Commonwealth Council on Aging also has four ex-officio members.
The council advises the governor, cabinet and legislature as to the most efficient, coordinated approaches for meeting the needs of older Virginians.
