Welcome, newest member of class of … 2031?

Sharon Gatewood, assistant professor of pharmacy (pictured at right), and husband Charles welcomed Sean Austin Gatewood to the family Feb. 9, 2009.

Sean, who weighed in at 5 pounds, 11 ounces, shouldn’t have trouble beating deadlines in future: He arrived four weeks early at St. Mary’s Hospital.

“Both mom and baby are doing great!” reports pharmacy professor Jean-Venable “Kelly” Goode.

Sean’s mom not only teaches here. She’s also an alumna, having earned her B.S. in chemistry at VCU in 1997, followed by her Pharm.D. in 2002.

Many congratulations to the Gatewood family from the School of Pharmacy.
