School of Pharmacy: here, there, EVERYWHERE!

Check out the wide variety of print and online publications in which VCU School of Pharmacy faculty, students and alumni have recently appeared:

  • The Feb. 27 issue of the Richmond Times-Dispatch noted Dean Victor Yanchick’s keynote speech at the AACP Interim Meeting. Click here and scroll to “Elsewhere on campus.”
  • The Jan/Feb/Mar 2009 issue of Academic Pharmacy Now (click here) features an “In Memoriam” of Frances M. Brodie by William E. • A feature about SOP alumnus Gerald Grossman (B.S. ’62) of Richmond and his volunteer work with The Mended Hearts Inc. ran in the Richmond Times-Dispatch Feb. 14, 2009. Grossman uses his own experience to relate to patients being treated for heart problems. To read the story, click here.

This issue profiles Becky Snead (B.S. ’85), VPhA Outstanding Pharmacist Award recipient; recognizes Chris Jones (B.S. ’82), recipient of the Virginia Pharmacist Service Award; and notes that Amy Dembowski (P2) is a new student liaison to the VPhA legislative committee. In addition, there’s a poignant Personal Message about “pharming” by Otto Wachsmann (Pharm.D. ’86) and a Guest Editorial, “New Practitioners, Where Are You?” by Jon Carter (P3).
  • SOP alumna Bronwyn Burnham (B.S. ’89), graced the cover of the October 2008 Virginia Pharmacist as VPhA’s 2008-09 VPhA president.
