VCU faculty, staff, students and alums have appeared in several print and online publications recently:

  • Barry L. Carter (Pharm.D. ’80) had a letter to the editor published in the April 22/29, 2009; 301 (16), issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association. To view his letter, click here.
  • SOP student organizations’ Community Health Fair at Manchester Middle School was announced in the Richmond Times-Dispatch’s “News Near You” item April 16. To see, click here and scroll down to Chesterfield.
  • Amy Whitaker, assistant professor, was quoted about Latisse, an eyelash-growing drug, in an April 11 Health Q&A column in the Richmond Times-Dispatch. To read the column, click here.
  • National Community Pharmacists Association’s April 2009 issue of America’s Pharmacist features Ron Davis (B.S. ’73) and Buford Road Pharmacy in Richmond, along with staff pharmacists Michelle Gore (B.S. ’88), Tyler Stevens (Pharm.D. ’06), David Williams (Pharm.D. ’06) and Kelly Rea, a former VCU Community Pharmacy Practice Resident.   • Bronwyn Burnham (B.S. ’89) discusses the Regional Rallies in her president’s message in the April 2009 edition of Virginia Pharmacist – click here and go to page 4. Also: A note by Al Schalow (B.S. ’61) on page 10 mentions a new Financial Oversight Committee, whose chairman is Otto Wachsmann (Pharm.D. ’86), and a Grants and Programs committee, whose chairwoman is Becky Snead (B.S. ’85).

  • The story now has gone offline, but news of Ron and Nancy McFarlane’s $250,000 endowment for an SOP professorship appeared in early March as part of AACP.org’s “Pharmacy School News.”
