Richmond Public Schools’ Office of School-Community Partnerships Web site noted the
School of Pharmacy’s participation in the nutritional backpack project. To see the photos and information, click here and scroll to “Central Virginia Foodbank and VCU School of Pharmacy provide weekend nutritional backpacks.”
South River Compounding Pharmacy, owned by alumnus Baylor Rice (B.S. ’94), was featured on
“Monday’s Medical Minute” June 1 on WRIC-TV.

Dorothy Smith, a longtime preceptor with the School of Pharmacy, was featured in the May 2009 issue of UC Magazine, the University of Cincinnati’s alumni magazine. To read the story, click here. According to Ron Ballentine, assistant director of admissions and student services, Smith -- who works for the Consumer Health Information Corp. in McLean -- will be working with P4 SOP students again this summer. Smith says her company offers a clinical clerkship site that specializes in the application of drug information to the development of patient education materials. The company has a Web page devoted to pharmacy student rotations (click here and search the word Commonwealth to find VCU School of Pharmacy students). Smith, Ballentine and Tom Reinders, associate dean for admissions and student services, attended University of Cincinnati together.
