School of Pharmacy on the move
The only constant is change! School of Pharmacy faculty/staff transitions include:
Karen Bryant has joined the Dean’s Office as graduate education coordinator, reporting to
Susanna Wu-Pong, director of Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Programs. Bryant served for nine years as the Master’s of Public Health Program coordinator for the School of Medicine’s Department of Epidemiology and Community Health.
Craig Coleman joined the Inova Campus staff as educational technologies analyst. Previously, he was event technical supervisor for KZL Audio Visual Services in Boston.
New title, same office: Denise Emminger, formerly program coordinator for the Office of Experiential Education, now is director of the APPE program (Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience).
Wil Hernandez is student services coordinator for the Inova Campus. He previously worked as a contractor for the Washington-based World Bank, which provides financial and technical assistance to developing countries.
Jason Rife, associate professor of medicinal chemistry, is now an associate professor of physiology and biophysics in the School of Medicine. He joined the VCU School of Pharmacy faculty in 1998.
Ann Weisner, a 2007 graduate of the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy, will join the Department of Pharmacy as an assistant professor, effective Aug. 17.
No more “Calling Dr. Whitaker”: Many congratulations to Amy Rudenko, assistant professor of pharmacy, who married
Mykola Ivan “Mike” Rudenko Jr. June 12 at Virginia Crossings Resort in Glen Allen. The former Amy Whitaker earned her Pharm.D. from VCU School of Pharmacy in 1998. Her husband, who graduated from VCU School of Business in 1995, is a Cisco firewall engineer with AT&T. For more on the wedding – and a beautiful photo! -- click here.
