Graduate Program Rubrics


Objective:

The goal of the program rubrics are for program assessment; i.e., to ensure that the PSGP is meeting and improving upon its curricular objectives.

Instructions:

  • Each student will be assessed by his or her evaluators at the stages of written exam, oral comprehensive (Ph.D.) or oral defense (M.S.) , and thesis/dissertation using the attached rubrics.
  • Evaluators consist of Advisory Committee members for oral exam and thesis/dissertation
  • Evaluators for the written exam consist of those who write and grade the written exam. The organizer of the written exam in the respective department should be responsible for collecting scores for the rubric
  • Each evaluator should provide a score from 1-4 using the accompanying rubric on each of the 4 measures (knowledge, problem solving, designing experiments and communication skills) or one overall score for the thesis/dissertation and enter into the table
  • Completed forms should be sent to the Director, Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Program
  • Performance trends in these four measures will be determined annually using these forms.
  • Feedback on composition of rubrics should be sent to the Director, Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Program
