VCU Graduate School Policies and Procedures

Documents and Links for Degree Progression:

  • Special Action Form – used for communicating all student status or curricular actions to the Graduate School
  • Graduate Student Advisory Committee and Course Plan
  • Notice for Oral Comprehensive Exam - must be copied to the Advisory Committee and Director of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Program and posted on the department board at least 10 days before the exam.
  • Stipend increase form - This form should be completed and submitted to the Pharmacy Business Office after PCEU or DPOS students advance to doctoral candidacy.
  • Oral Exam Signature Sheet – this form is provided by the Director of Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Program with the student folder to the School Representative or Committee Chair.
  • Notice of Final Oral Defense - must be copied to the Advisory Committee and Director of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Program and posted on the department board at least 10 days before the exam.
  • Defense Outcome Signature Sheet - this form is provided by the Director of Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Program with the student folder to the School Representative or Committee Chair.
  • VCU Thesis and Dissertation Manual
  • Teaching Documentation - must be submitted to the Director of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Program before graduation.
  • Degree Candidacy Form - must be completed by Master's students upon formation of the Advisory Committee, and by Doctoral students prior to the Oral Comprehensive Exam, then submitted to the Graduate School. (Note: the transcript should have all required courses and no incomplete or missing grades for Degree Candidacy to be approved).
